"To give without expectation is truly giving from the heart" ~Misty Morning Star
Hiking the hills, valleys and other terrain, picking up rocks carrying a heavy load... So much fun!
I set my goals for what I want to find. Many believe the stone chooses you.
No matter how many I find, when I find that ONE stone that makes me WOW! I get excited!! My rock Hunt becomes complete.
Sometimes it's within the first 10 minutes or it takes the whole day. Yet, in the end, I have found my stone!
One hot summer day in the Mojave, not long ago, I was collecting rocks nearby my place. I wanted to study them and find out what types of stones were here.
Amongst the Unikite and Crystals laying about was this dirty flat black stone with white speckles. I nearly passed it up but I remembered my mission and realized that it had been nicely tumbled to a lovely shape.
Soon thereafter, I acquired some supplies and went to work sanding the stone. Suddenly, it started to smell like the cap guns I used to play with as a child. I knew the odor well,... Sulpher! I could feel life within the stone. "Wow! This stone is amazing!", I said to no one.
It begun to show it's true color and I saw that it was real pretty!
I love this stone.😍 I named him Benny.
I will never again under estimate the power of the stone!
The first question asked by viewers is, "Where did you find it?".
There is a stigma that quality stones can only be found in a credible mine. It seems it is unfathomable that the desert has no such stones; Hence, my story.
While walking one day, out in the Mojave, I found myself at the mountain foothills' washroads. I was inspecting the sidewalls of a dried up wash to find some possible hidden goodies when I came upon a nice shiny stone that seemed to appear out of nowhere.
Totally out of place was this clear gem amongst the dirty, hard, dark colored stones and sand. It almost seemed to be trying to get my attention.
I picked it up and 'clean as a whistle', it sparkled beyond belief; not a scratch on it! Inside was a Gold flake and a bigger flake of Silver, it seemed.
I peered deeper into the gem and saw what appeared to be a universe of tiny starry colorful lights!
The gem has four sides and a V shaped crevace in place of where there could have been more. But it does have a Crystal base as if it once was lodged in a prison of Crystal.
Set free, it found it's way to me.
Some believe stones are alive. Some believe stones can travel. Many say that they move about the earth in search of their destiny.
A Geode has six edges that come to a point. A diamond has four edges. This is only one difference of many...
